Barwon Coast

Barwon Coast is responsible for coastal reserves along Victoria’s Bellarine Peninsula, covering everything from environmental care and community programs.

Their existing logo carried real recognition, but the brand around it had grown functional and bureaucratic, with little warmth or connection to the landscape it represented. We retained the existing mark and built a brand system around it designed to flex across visitor touchpoints from signage to publications to digital channels. Custom illustrations rooted in the flora, fauna and character of the Bellarine coast gave the identity a distinct visual approach, paired with a secondary colour and texture palette that deepened its connection to the local environment.

Barwon Coast operates three caravan parks, Barwon Heads, Riverview and Breamlea, each of which had grown its own disconnected visual identity over time.

Visitors often didn’t realise the parks were owned and run by Barwon Coast, or that park revenue funds its environmental and community work. To solve this disconnect, we developed a unified sub-brand structure: a logo system that connects back to Barwon Coast, while use of supporting colour keeps every site individually recognisable. Parent brand storytelling was brought into the parks’ own brand expression, so the ownership and purpose link is clear for each of these locally-loved parks.

The same system extended again for the Barwon Coast Discovery Centre, a local museum where visitors can explore the marine life, plants, animals, history, geology and shipwrecks of the Bellarine coast. Its logo sits comfortably within the broader Barwon Coast brand ecosystem, while still confidently telling its own story.
